Meet Your Baker

Hi! I’m Cindy.

I’m a second generation Chinese American pastry artist with Vietnamese heritage, inspired by culture, travel, art, and the joy food can bring to people.

My love for baking began over 10 years ago after making a Bûche de Noël cake for Christmas and seeing how much happiness it brought someone I cared about. That moment stayed with me and eventually led me to pursue pastry professionally.

After studying at the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, New York, I continued exploring desserts through pop-ups, celebrations, and creations inspired by my experiences growing up and traveling throughout Asia.

I’ve always loved creating beautiful things—from drawing and flowers to plated desserts and celebration cakes—and Sweet Dream Bakes became a place where all of those passions could come together.

Our Story

Sweet Dream Bakes was born from a simple moment—baking a cake and watching someone’s face light up.

What began as a love for sweets grew into something deeper: a way to share culture, memory, and connection through flavor.

Founded by Seattle-based pastry chef Cindy Yuong, Sweet Dream Bakes blends Asian-inspired flavors, artistic design, and storytelling through dessert. Rooted in Chinese and Vietnamese heritage, each creation draws inspiration from familiar ingredients, travel, and the quiet beauty found in everyday moments.

Guided by a balance often found in Asian desserts, each creation is designed to highlight the true flavor of its ingredients—not overly sweet, but thoughtful, layered, and refined.

Whether it’s a box of sweets shared between friends or a custom cake created for a meaningful celebration, every dessert is made with intention: to create warmth, joy, and connection through something beautiful to share.
